Mrs. Lela Welch Curry, age 93, passed away in Madison, Fl. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017.  Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m., at Lee First Baptist Church, with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Curry was born on Jan. 22, 1924, in Madison County, Fl., to Will and Edna Welch. Woman’s Club says thank you to first responders

Chris Jones: Greene Publishing, Inc. The Madison Woman’s Club presented care packages to local first responders and emergency personnel on Monday, Feb. 13. Carol Gibson, who was chairman of the project, stated that the packages, containing chocolates, snacks, and other goodies, were delivered to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the Madison Police Department, the Madison Fire Department, the Madison EMS and the dispatch office. “We really just want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our first responders,” said Gibson. Lions Club announces fundraiser

The Madison Lions Club met on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Cucinnella’s  Brick Oven Pizzeria in Madison to discuss their upcoming fundraiser.  The Club will be selling chicken dinners on the Madison County Courthouse lawn on Mar. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The dinners will include roasted chicken, cole slaw, baked beans, and bread.
