On Tuesday, March 21, Greene Publishing, Inc. extended the St. Patrick's Day celebration when they hosted the monthly Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours mixer. It is a tradition for the local newspaper to host the March event, due to the close proximity to the traditional Irish holiday. It is also in honor of the newspaper's founder, Tommy Greene, who was always seen around town wearing green. Those who wore green to the event were entered into a special drawing for the evening. The local newspaper office was decorated in St. Patrick's Day décor and, of course, plenty of green. The March Business After Hours has become one of the more popular events on the calendar, and that was certainly the case this time. The office was packed with revelers who enjoyed food, drinks and a fun time visiting each other in a relaxed atmosphere.
The monthly Business After Hours mixers are held the third Tuesday of each month at a different chamber member's business. They are meant to allow people to get to know their neighbors and businesses in a relaxed atmosphere. The mixers are always free and open to the public. The next Business After Hours will take place on Tuesday, April 18, at TOSPT Physical Therapy, located at 456 W. Base St., in Madison.
