From Tuesday, March 17 through Wednesday, March 18, seven outstanding students from Madison County Central School (MCCS) represented our school at the National Beta Leadership Summit in Jekyll Island, Ga. These students competed in multiple events, including Project Proposal, Beta Blitz, Regional Leadership, Being Better Betas and Collaboration Connection—an event where participants did not know the prompt until they entered the room.
I am incredibly proud to share that our students earned an invitation to the National Convention in Nashville, Tenn. by winning four out of the five competitions they entered—an amazing accomplishment.
The students who represented MCCS were: Valentina Gonzalez, Damian Duarte-Mendez, Chloe Dickinson, Ava Roberts, Andrew Lowe, Teresa Duarte-Santiago and Blair Replogle. A special recognition goes to Ava Roberts, who serves as the Beta Regional Leadership Representative.
Each of these students competed with determination, confidence and pride. Several stepped up at the last minute to fill in where needed, truly demonstrating what it means to be a Bronco—and more importantly, a Beta. They led by serving one another, showing teamwork, resilience and leadership at its finest.
“As their sponsor, I cannot fully express how proud I am of each and every one of them,” said MCCS Beta Club Sponsor Memori McGriff. “They represented our school and community with excellence.”
As the club prepares for nationals in Nashville, they will be hosting several fundraisers to help support this journey. Please be on the lookout for ways to contribute. If you would like to help, feel free to contact McGriff at memori.mcgriff@mcsbfl.us.”Thank you for your continued support of our students,” McGriff added.
