The excitement of Homecoming week continued to build on Tuesday Sept. 30 as Madison County High School (MCHS) held its annual Homecoming Coronation Ceremony, recognizing outstanding students and celebrating school spirit. Parents, classmates and community members filled the gymnasium as the 2025 Homecoming Court was formally announced.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from Jimmy Brown and an introduction of representatives from various sports, clubs and student organizations. Each student, escorted by a classmate or family member, was recognized for their involvement both in and outside of school.
Class Representatives:
Representing the freshman class was Eva Abbigale McLeod, escorted by Levi Proveau. The sophomore class was represented by Ta’Kiyah Gilley, escorted by Amarion Choice. The junior class was represented by Ri’Shanti Morris, escorted by Bryan Mays, while the senior class was proudly represented by Symia Chaney, escorted by Hayden Chaney.
Sports and Cheerleading:
Athletic representatives included Alden Bass for softball, escorted by Harper Bass. Riley Welch represented JV Volleyball, escorted by Gage Terril, and Victoria Dawkins for varsity volleyball. For JV cheerleading, Arianna Davis represented, while the varsity cheerleaders were represented by Ciera Crooks, escorted by Chad Cherry. The school’s band was represented by Quinlan Lowe and Adyson Hammock.
Clubs and Organizations:
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes was represented by Kylee Hutto, escorted by Wade Wilson, while Camryn Bass, escorted by Kannon Plain, took the stage for National Honor Society. Arianna Mazzella represented the Student Government Association, and Lauri Thigpen, escorted by Maddox Scanlan, represented Turing Point USA. The Future Farmers of America was represented by Caylee Crooks, escorted by Jacob Churchwell. Last but not least, Jiel Crumitie, escorted by Javarie Troy, represented the Beta club.
Homecoming Princesses:
The highlight of the evening was the recognition of the 2025 MCHS Homecoming Princesses. This year’s honorees were Jordin Akins, escorted by Ja’Kobi Jackson; Logan Bass, escorted by Jake Murphy; Sara Beth Rutherford; escorted by Collin Copeland; and Elboni Townsend, escorted by Gregory Townsend, Jr. Each princess was applauded for her academic achievements, community involvement and school spirit.
As the evening drew to a close, the audience was reminded of the importance of tradition, school pride and the outstanding contributions of Madison County’s students. The coronation not only set the stage for Friday night’s Homecoming football game but also highlighted the talent, leadership and bright futures of the MCHS student body.
