Wreath laying for Madison unsung heroes and honoring Katrina Aikens and her second grade class of 1996

He gave birth to the idea and was responsible for the placement of the monument in the Madison City Park. He wanted to have a visual memorial to show that slavery was wrong and inhumane. As a white Christian, he pondered, how Christians allowed this un-Christ-like cruelty to happen, when the Bible says, “do to others as you want them to do to you.
