On Tuesday, Aug. 25, widows and widowers gathered at The Bridge for their monthly dinner together. A loaded taco bar was the main course, with plenty of desserts to choose from.
As the eating and conversations subsided, the group enjoyed a “traveling gift” game, where a series of questions determined who the ultimate gift recipient would be. Roy Phillips took home the prize.
Next up was a challenging Bible trivia game that tested the widows’ knowledge of scripture. Sarah Buchanan was awarded a gift for correctly answering the most questions.
The meeting concluded with a word of encouragement from Jenny Starling, who hosts the gatherings, and a time of prayer for those needing healing.
The widows’ next meeting is set for Tuesday. Sept. 22, at 5 p.m., at The Bridge, located at 1135 E U.S. Hwy. 90, in Madison. All widows and widowers are invited to attend.
