July 20, 1956 • “Shooting” the sun with a sextant aboard the heavy cruiser USS Des Moines is the Midshipman 3-c Mannie C Wooley, Jr., of Madison. He is a sophomore at Alabama Polytechnic institute.   • The Methodist picnic Thursday afternoon at Suwannee Park, Ellaville, was an enjoyable occasion with plenty of good eats and fun.The weather was ideal and there was a large attendance.The occasion was honoring Rev. and Mrs. E.E. Snow and Miss Billie Edna Snow. �
