On Thursday, Jan. 22, the Jefferson County High School Tigers boys and girls basketball teams faced off at home against the Warriors of Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA). The action began with the girls taking the court.
The Lady Warriors took their game with a 37-25 score. For the Lady Warriors, Georgia Lindsey chalked up a double-double to lead the Lady Warriors with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
In the boys varsity game, the Tigers got off to a slow start, with just 8 points to ACA's 19 in the first period and 6 points to 14 in the second period. The second half of the game saw the Tigers mount a comeback, outscoring the Warriors 20 to 14 in the third period and 18 to 11 in the final period. It wasn't quite enough to pull out a win, though, with the final score being Warriors 62 and Tigers 52.
For the Warriors, the high scorer was Caine Demott with 23 points (the season record, so far), followed by Bryson Mills with 13.
