On Duval St. between Busy Bee and CVS Pharmacy on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 around 10:53 a.m., two vehicles collided in a wreck that would send one driver to Madison County Memorial Hospital.

At the same time, Charles Padgett, 27, of Perry, had the right-of-way while driving north on Duval St.
The left front of Holmes’ 1994 Mazda struck the left front of Padgett’s 2007 Toyota in the intersection between Duval St. and Marion St.
The collision damaged both vehicles to the extent that there is an estimated $2,000 worth of damage.
Holmes was transported by Emergency Medical Services on scene to Madison County Memorial Hospital with head lacerations, but Padgett, as well as his passenger, Claire Ensley, 23, also of Perry, turned down any medical treatment and showed no visible signs of trauma.
Holmes is being charged with a violation of right of way while approaching and entering an intersection.
The scene of the wreck was cleared by 11:30 a.m. and both vehicles were towed off of the scene due to the extent of the damage inflicted.
