On Friday, Oct. 7, Danetta Townsend, 32, of Madison, was traveling north on State Road 53 South when the vehicle in front of her, driven by Rebecca Villanueva, slowed down to turn left onto Harvey Greene Dr. Townsend did not slow down fast enough and the front of her chevy Trailblazer collided into the back of Villanueva's vehicle. Townsend was brought to Madison County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The two minors traveling with Townsend were unharmed.

On Friday, Oct. 8, around 7:43 a.m., Danetta Townsend, of Madison, and Rebecca Villanueva, of Live Oak, were involved in a car collision at the intersection of State Road 53 and Harvey Greene Dr.
Townsend, 32, was traveling northbound on State Road 53 behind Villanueva, 50, who was also traveling in a northbound direction.
As the vehicles approached the entrance of Harvey Greene Dr., Villanueva slowed to make a left turn onto Harvey Greene. Townsend failed to respond by slowing down quick enough, and the front of Townsend's 2004 Chevy Trailblazer collided with the rear of Villanueva's 2008 Ford Escape.
As a result of the collision, Villanueva's vehicle traveled northwest onto the west shoulder of State Road 53, and Townsend's vehicle traveled northeast onto the eastern shoulder of the state road.
In final rest, both vehicles were facing north.
Villanueva sustained no injuries during the collision, but Townsend required transportation to Madison County Memorial Hospital for the minor injuries she had received during the collision. Traveling with Townsend were two minors, age 13 and eight; both were reported to have no injuries.
Townsend is facing charges of careless driving.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) handled the scene with assistance from the Madison Police Department, Madison County Sheriff's Office, Madison County Fire Rescue, Madison County EMS and County Line Towing.
FHP Trooper William Bontrager was the crash investigator for this collision.
