Rick Patrick rick@greenepublishing.com It began at Madison County High School (MCHS) in February of 2024 with a handful of students. These students began a chapter of the national Turning Point USA organization. Turning Point USA is an organization of mostly young people, high school and college age, who share a belief in pro-country, pro-traditional Judeo-Christian values. The organization was founded by the late Charlie Kirk, who was tragically murdered at a university event in Utah on Sept. 10 of this year. Following his death, there has been an increase in interest in the Turning Point USA organization across the nation.
According to Taylor Davies, an MCHS graduate who was involved in Turning Point USA at MCHS when it was started, the organization was errantly called a “republican club” because of the nature of the organization. “We’re not a political group, not technically,” said Davies. “People liked to call us the ‘republican club’ simply because of how patriotic we are, which is exactly what everyone should be in our country.”
