Madison County’s 2nd annual Toys for Tots Program, sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, has begun.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications from needy families and will work with several organizations to identify needy children in the county.
The application process requires proof of household income, the child’s original birth certificate, original Social Security card, and proof of Madison County residency. A family can sign up using the required documents at the Sheriff’s Office, with Tammy Tuten, no later than Monday, Nov. 21. There are no guarantees that every family signed up will receive gifts through this program.
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart oversees the local Toys for Tots Program, assisted by William Sircy, chaplain/evidence custodian for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office; Ed Meggs, President of Madison County Community Bank; and Tim Bennett, City of Madison Manager.
Suggestions for toys include bats, balls, gloves, backpacks, wallets, purses, books, radio-controlled cars, toy trucks, cosmetics, bath gift sets, board games, handheld electronics, skateboards and helmets.
