A woman was placed under arrest on Tuesday, June 23, shortly after 9:30 p.m., after entering into a local assisted living facility in Madison while topless, causing mischief and refusing to cooperate with law enforcement.
Officer Bradley Griffin responded to Angels with a Divine Purpose at 240 SE Stephens Ave., in Madison, in reference to a burglary. Upon entry, he observed an individual restraining Kenisha Isabella Montes, 19, of Homestead. Montes, who was without a shirt or bra, was detained for the duration of the investigation. Officer Griffin requested the individual to provide Montes a shirt to which the individual did.
Officer Griffin, with Officer Lucas Smith, asked Montes what occurred. She declined to answer. Officer Smith asked Montes if she had any identification on her person to which she responded with a social security number that was not assigned to her. Montes was placed in the back of a patrol car as the investigation continued. During that same time, it was learned that Montes reportedly smoked an unknown substance prior to Montes entering the facility.
According to the individual who was found restraining Montes as officers arrived on scene, Montes entered Angels with a Divine Purpose, where she entered a resident's room and pushed down a television. Not responding to questions, Montes then entered the living room and started knocking other objects over. Surveillance footage further showed evidence of Montes, nude from the waist up, entering the residence and throwing household plants.
Montes was placed under arrest and transported to the Madison County Jail by Officer Lucas, where she was booked on charges of burglary of an occupied structure (unarmed), criminal mischief, indecent exposure and false identification given to a law enforcement officer. Montes refused to give Officer Lucas or detention officers her information. A relative of Montes later called the jail to provide Montes' full name and date of birth.
