The Toastmasters met on Friday, May 27, with Bobbi Breo and Mickey Starling taking the prepared speeches portion of the meeting. Starling spoke about seeing your way through difficult circumstances and coming to a better understanding of God's plan for your life. Breo spoke on being more relatable to others. She mentioned the need to stay in touch with the people around you, rather than slipping into a pattern of living in “ your own little world.”
The word of the day was “uncanny,” an adjective referring to something that is strange or mysterious. After the Table Topics portion of the meeting, the Toastmasters decided to have a special meeting on Thursday, June 23, beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at this meeting and everyone is invited to visit and learn more about the organization. Toastmasters are dedicated to improving the speaking and leadership skills of their members, all within a friendly and encouraging environment. Toastmasters meet at the Madison County Chamber of Commerce conference room, located at 182 College Loop, in Madison.
