Almost everyone in Madison County is aware of Timmy Dyke’s ability to help raise funds when trouble strikes. His grill fires up quickly when health issues, house fires or natural disasters cause his neighbors to be in need.
Unfortunately, it’s his turn now, after recently being diagnosed with cancer. As with any cancer diagnosis, the expenses mount up quickly.
The friends of Timmy Dyke, a growing group of folks who have also mounted up to help Dyke and his family with medical bills, have planned a fundraiser for Friday, May 8, on the south side of the Madison County Courthouse, from 11:30 a.m. until all the plates are sold.
Takeout plates will be available, featuring pulled pork or chicken and rice, including green beans, cole slaw, a roll and dessert. A suggested donation of $15 per plate is greatly appreciated. All proceeds will benefit the Dyke family.
Dyke is not accustomed to being on the receiving end of generosity, but he is thankful for the love he is already receiving from the community. “I appreciate all of Madison County’s support,” said Dyke. “It’s very humbling.”
