Introduction:
"Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" was released to American audiences on Friday, May 10. It is the tenth film from the entire Planet of the Apes franchise, and the fourth in the rebooted franchise. The film takes place 300 years after the most recent movie, "War for the Plane of the Apes." It follows the chimpanzee Noa (Owen Teague), a member of the Eagle clan of apes, who practice falconry. When Noa, along with his friends Anaya (Travis Jeffery) and Soona (Lydia Peckham), prepare for a coming-of-age ceremony, they discover a human being. The human, being later found out to be Mae (Freya Allen), follows the trio back to the clan, and inadvertently ruins Noa's ceremony. As Noa attempts to rectify the situation, he discovers a band of ape raiders, who follow his horse back to the clan, burning down the village, killing Noa's father and taking the rest of the clan captive. Noa vows revenge and begins the journey of vengeance to bring his clan home. What follows is a thought-provoking adventure through apocalyptic southern California, where Noa makes friends such as Raka (Peter Macon) and learns more about the legend of Ceaser.
