Growing up, many of us were constantly asked what we wanted to do in life. At younger ages it’s usually the common ones; I myself went through wanting to be an architect to a lawyer to a Marine and to an engineer before finally landing on environmental manager. Even still, a lot of my friends aren’t sure exactly what they want to do once they enter the workforce (or are working through various jobs trying to find the right fit). When unsure about a person’s wants for the future, many people typically ask what their interests are or what their calling is.
I find that there are really two answers to this question, at least for myself. First, I couple “calling” and “purpose” together, the answer being to spread the Word of God and follow in His path. The second answer is probably what most people are actually looking for, which is making change in the growing world of environmental science. But can my second answer really be accomplished if my first answer isn’t in the works?
