This Sunday’s church service was a special one, as my friend and I both got to attend after not being able to for a couple of weeks. The message was something that really struck home for not only me but everyone in the church. Our pastor discussed the concept of God’s help through negative situations in our life. Notice I said His help, not His saving or avoidance of worldly issues. God does not exist to get us out of problems, per se, but He is going to help us get through them.
That’s something that some Christians struggle to understand. Accepting Jesus as our savior does not mean we will then live a problem-free life, it just means we will have the greatest help in getting through said problems. He won’t leave us hung out to dry, but instead He will give us situations to learn from. We may not understand the reasoning for those lessons until later, but we have to remain strong in our faith and trust in His plan for us.
