I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. As this year is winding to a close and finals are steadily creeping up on us college kids, I wanted to devote a column to the final stretch. We are so close to completing another year and more importantly going on break, but there is still much work left to be done. It becomes harder as time goes on to remain focused in classes, at work and in other things in life. But just like in the last inning of a close game or in the last leg of a track meet, we have to lock in and finish whatever task is at hand.
I know I am guilty of checking out mentally towards the end of tasks, especially extensive homework or studying. However, that final stretch is what could be the difference between pass or fail. Just like in my previous column entitled “Keep On Keeping On” we have to keep pushing through the finish line. You can’t win a race by only making it through three-quarters of it, nor can you make the most of the year by only staying focused up until Thanksgiving. So challenge yourself with the remaining month we have left of 2022. Make it through this final stretch and keep that energy towards any New Year’s resolutions you may have. It will be worth it in the long run.
