As the semester comes to a close, post season has begun. My team and I have made our way to the GSC tournament, where this week will allow us to prove ourselves as the best in our conference before moving onto regional play. This will be our last run in post season ever, and my fellow seniors and I are making sure we soak in every single moment we have left with our team.
Everything comes to an end at some point, and that’s something that we tend to forget as humans. Sometimes, we think we’re immortal and have all the time in the world. But let me be the one who pulls you back to reality. My four years at UWF have gone by in what feels like four seconds. I have learned a lot in my time here, and have been working towards finding peace with softball coming to an end, but I too have found myself taking some moments for granted. I am making it a point to take in these last moments with my team and wearing the UWF jersey. This road has been hard, but that doesn’t mean I regret any of it. Even when things seem hard in the moment, don’t get caught up in how hard it is, instead, remind yourself that the chapter of life that you are in won’t last forever. Soak it all up, it will all come to an end at some point.
