This summer has been filled with various adventures, coaching, schoolwork and many memories made with friends. One of those memories came on Tuesday of this week when my lifting partners and I went to the cages to hit together after working out. Our plan was to only be there for about 30 minutes, but we ended up staying there for an hour that felt like no more than 20 minutes. We hit, of course, but also did a lot of catching up and dancing since we had the cage all to ourselves. We weren’t mad that we stayed longer than planned simply because we were having so much fun.
Moments like these really make me step back and thank God for the wonderful people and opportunities that He has brought into my life. Surround yourself with friends who will do silly dances with you and still keep you on track with the task you have at hand. Find joy in the little things in your everyday life. It makes the bigger picture even better. Cherish the moments where an hour feels like half that time simply because of the people you are with. Those memories will stick with you for a long time, no matter how small they may seem.
