Your support is needed for Valor Lasseter, the grandson of Kent Lasseter, of Madison and Susan Jones, of Lee. He is the son of Tony and Laura Lasseter. A fundraiser takeout is set for Saturday, June 6, at Four Freedoms Park, in Madison. The $10 plates will be served from 11 a.m. until they run out. The meals will include BBQ chicken, baked beans, coleslaw and dessert.
While grabbing a plate, consider purchasing some of the fine items donated through the generosity of local businesses, available during a silent auction. All proceeds will assist the family with medical bills and financial needs resulting from his surgery as well as the long journey ahead of him.
For those unable to attend, there is an account set up for Valor at Madison County Community Bank. Ask to make a donation to Clark Contributions.
Valor Lasseter is a happy six year-old boy, despite what he is currently going through. He has been sick off and on since he was two months old but was only recently diagnosed with craniopharyngioma, a rare brain tumor.
Valor is recovering from a successful surgery to remove the tumor. However, the procedure required the removal of his pituitary gland, which will result in the need for life-long assistance and care.
Valor is currently recovering at Shands Hospital, in Gainesville, Fla., after a recent follow-up surgery. This brave young man continues to smile through it all, and is caught occasionally singing “Here’s My Heart, Lord,” even on difficult days.
