Families in Madison County will once again have access to free summer meals for children and teens through Florida’s Summer BreakSpot program. The program provides nutritious meals at no cost to all children and teens ages 18 and younger during the summer months when school is not in session. No registration or application is required, and participants simply need to visit a designated meal site during serving hours.
In Madison County, meals will be available at Madison County Central School, located at 2093 West U.S. Hwy. 90 in Madison, beginning Monday, June 8 and continuing through Thursday, July 23. Meals will be served Monday through Thursday, with breakfast available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be no meal service on Thursday, June 18, Thursday, July 2 or Monday, July 6.
Summer BreakSpot is a statewide program that offers free breakfasts, lunches and snacks at more than 3,000 locations across Florida, helping ensure children have access to healthy meals throughout the summer, while cafeterias are closed.
Parents and guardians seeking additional information may contact Iris Wynn at (850) 973-1539. Information about meal sites throughout Florida is also available by calling 211 or visiting the Summer BreakSpot website.
