A local single mom, Britny Nicole Ammons, recently suffered the devastating loss of her home and three beloved pets to a tragic house fire. The blaze, which occurred on Friday, Jan. 30, resulted in a total loss of their home. The exact cause of the fire is unknown, although it is suspected that it could have been electrical in nature. Madison County residents and others have stepped up generously with donations of clothing and other essentials and for that, Ammons is truly thankful. She stated her biggest need at the time is monetary and a stable place to live for her and her three children, ages 10, five and four. She is currently looking for rental housing where she and her children can stay for the coming months.
“I am extremely grateful for the kindness from everyone who has helped,” said Ammons. “I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough.”
A GoFundMe account has also been set up for monetary donations. Donations may be made at “Aid for Britny’s Family After House Fire.” Donations may also be dropped off at Kellie’s Kindergarten Prep, located at 380 SE Corinth Church Rd., in Lee.
