During any emergency, accurate, pertinent and timely information can be vital. The Madison County Emergency Management Department urges everyone to sign up for the “ALERTMadison Emergency Notification System.” This is a free alert system for any resident or business located in Madison County.
The ALERTMadison system has replaced the old “Code Red” system that was previously in place. According to Madison County Emergency Management Director Leigh Basford, the ALERTMadison not only provides greater service than the older alert service, it does so at a great cost saving to the County. Many of those who were already signed up for the Code Red system were automatically transferred over to the ALERTMadison system. However, if you requested that your phone number not be shared when initiating the Code Red system, you would not have automatically been signed up. If you are unsure if your phone number has been transferred to the new ALERTMadison, simply call Madison County Emergency Management at (850) 973-3698, and someone will be happy to help you.
Signing up for ALERTMadison is quick and easy. Simply visit the County’s website at madisoncountyfl.com and click on the ALERTMadison tab on the home page; or scan the QR code provided.
