According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), an early morning crash on State Road 6 claimed the life of a Hallandale Beach, Fla. man. The crash happened at approximately 5:55 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, in Madison County, on State Road 6 at N.E. Blue Springs Road.
According to the FHP report, a white sedan, driven by a 60-year-old Hallandale Beach, Fla. man, was traveling westbound on State Road 6. A semi truck and trailer, driven by a 52-year-old Byron, Ga. man, was traveling eastbound on State Road 6. The white sedan traveled across the center line into the path of the semi. The front of the sedan collided with the front of the semi. Both vehicles continued to travel in an easterly direction before coming to rest in the westbound travel lane of State Road 6, just west of N.E. Old Blue Springs Road, with the semi on top of the sedan, facing southeast.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene by Madison County Fire Rescue (MCFR) Emergency Medical Technicians. The driver of the semi received minor injuries. The FHP was assisted on the scene by the Madison County Sheriff's Office, MCFR and Ferrovial Services.
