Safety 1st has recently recalled around 180,000 car seats due to a choking hazard.
The recall states that, “…the headrest foam pad is not adequately secured for certain Safety 1st Grow & Go Sprint child seats…” The headrest foam can be easily picked off from the child and can cause them to potentially choke. The car seats that are a part of the recall include these following model numbers: CC321GYU, CC321GYUD, CC321GYY, CC321GYYD, CC321HAO and CC321HAR.
There are around a dozen reports of children putting the foam in their mouths, however there are no reports of injury or medical treatment needed. The manufacturer, Dorel Juvenile Group, is going to mail replacement headrest pad assembly kits for free.
For more information or to receive a replacement headrest pad assembly kit, contact the Dorel Juvenile Group’s customer service at 1(877) 657-9546 or email gng-sprint-recall@djgusa.com.
