Ruby L. Register

Mrs. Ruby L. Register, age 90, passed away on Thursday, June 22, in Lee, Fl. Ruby was born on Sept. 17, 1926, in Lee, to George L. Bell and Mamie Sue McMullen Bell. Mrs. Register was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She worked as a hair dresser out of her home for many years. Mrs. Ruby enjoyed gardening, and was up to date on current politics. She loved to have family gatherings and will be fondly remembered for her potato salad. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Eschol E. Register; parents, George L. Bell and Mamie Sue McMullen; brothers: Colin, Jamie, Frank, and Charles Bell; and sisters, Lucille Davis and Virginia Bell.  Mrs. Register is survived by her children: Mike Register (Cherryl), Maurice Register (Beth), Diane Register, and Freddie Register; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Private services will be held on a later date at Stonewall Cemetery, with Pastor Frank Davis and Pastor Cherryl Register officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Bend Hospice or the American Heart Association. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
