It is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Madison Rotary Club, and this year was one of the most successful. On Thursday, Oct. 20, the local service club held their annual prime rib dinner fundraiser. According to Madison Rotary Club President, Mark Branham, although the exact numbers have still yet to be calculated, this year's event raised approximately $5,000.
The money from the fundraiser will be used to help fund a number of local projects. Some of the projects funded by the Madison Rotary Club have included disaster relief, local schools, ramps for people with mobility issues, the Southern Scholarship Foundation and many more.
The Madison Rotary Club meets each Wednesday, at 12 p.m., at the Villa Maria Social Hall of the St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, located on Orange Avenue, across from Beggs Funeral Home, in Madison.
