During the regular meeting of the Madison County Board of County Commissioners on Wednesday, Aug. 26, the commissioners voted unanimously to allow County property on SE Dale Leslie Drive to be used for a rodeo to take place next spring. This paves the way for another rodeo after the rodeo this past spring was a tremendous success, by all accounts. Commissioner Rick Davis confirmed the dates for the rodeo as Friday, March 12, and Saturday, March 13, of next year. “That date is set,” said Commissioner Davis. It was stated by State Representative Allison Tant that the success of the rodeo held last spring was a contributing factor in convincing the State Legislature to approve funding to help build a new Agriculture Arena Building that will have the capacity to host such events.
The Commissioners approved a quote from Redwire for security cameras, fire alarms and door access at the new multi-use facility being constructed on SE Dale Leslie Drive. This is the same company that provides these services at the Madison County Courthouse and the Courthouse Annex. The contract for services at the multi-use building will be the same as the contract the County already has with Redwire. The work at the multi-use building comes with a $17,194.97 price tag and will include a $324 per month price for service.
