Richard “Dick” Paul Archambault, 77, of Lee, Fla., passed away on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Dick was born in Providence, R.I., to Louis and Florette Archambault. He graduated from Coventry High School in 1965, then went on to join the Navy in 1967. As an Airman in the Navy, he served diligently as an Aviation Structural Mechanic of hydraulics until 1971. He then furthered his education at Johnson & Wales College, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Dick married Cheryl Buonacorsi Archamault on Aug. 21, 1971, and recently, they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. He was a wonderful father to Jason Archambault and Jennifer Hicks, both of Madison, Fla. Dick worked as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service for 24 years. During that time Dick, often referred to as “Mr. Archie,” fulfilled a dream of opening a small-town restaurant. In 1989, Archie’s Restaurant, in Lee, Fla., quickly became part of Lee’s “Little But Proud” history. His most favorite title was the best Papa to his four grandchildren: Faith Donaldson, Karissa Kervin, Merridy Archambault and Hannah Kervin. Dick enjoyed gardening, fishing, small engine repair and spending time with his family. Though raised Catholic, Dick was a member of Lee Methodist Church since the early 1990s.
