A single-car wreck that occurred in Greenville, Tuesday, Dec. 22, was ended with a transport to Madison County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries for a young driver. Around 2:44 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol, Asha Davis, 17, of Greenville, was driving east on U.S. Hwy 90 when an animal crossed into her vehicle’s path and she veered to the right in order to miss the animal. Davis’ Kia Optima traveled over the southeast curbed shoulder and onto the south sidewalk. Not stopping there, the vehicle’s front end collided with a utility pole, knocking it down and traveling through it. Davis’ vehicle remained out of control as it traveled northeast, back into the outside lane of the highway and rotated clockwise direction for a ¼ turn. Finally, the vehicle came to rest in the outside eastbound travel lane facing south. Davis was not cited, as there were no witnesses present to be identified at the scene. However, she is being charged with the violation of the restrictions on a learner’s driver license. Davis was transported to MCMH with minor injuries.
While trying to avoid hitting an animal, Davis rammed her vehicle into a utility pole, which caused the power lines to fall.
