During felony court proceedings on Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the Madison County Courthouse, Scotty Herring, 31, of Pinetta, appeared before the Hon. Melissa Olin. Herring was facing probation violation charges stemming from a charge of possession of a controlled substance in July of 2024. Herring admitted the violation and was sentenced to spend 13 month in the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections. His probation was revoked and terminated. He was also ordered to pay $250 in court-related costs. He was given credit for 34 days already served.
