The United States Postal Service (USPS) is reporting that an unknown person or persons vandalized a USPS postal box outside the Madison Post Office earlier this month.
It is not known what was taken. However, in the interest of caution, the USPS, the Madison Post Office and the Madison Police Department (MPD) would like to advise everyone that if any checks were dropped into a postal box between 5 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 6 and 7 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 8, when the vandalism was discovered, it would be wise to consult with your local bank about any suspicious activity. The USPS assumes no liability for anything stolen.
The MPD is also asking anyone with information to call the department at (850) 973-5077.
