On Thursday, July 23, candidates for two seats on the Madison County Board of County Commissioners shared their thoughts and plans for Madison County during a political forum, held in the Madison County Courthouse. The five candidates present answered questions about what they thought were top issues facing Madison County and what they would propose in order to address those issues. The candidates for the District One seat include Chris O’Brian, Daniel Plain and Gregory Vickers, who was unable to attend in person, due to a prior commitment. Moderator Billy Washington read Vickers’ prepared answers. Candidates for the District Two Seat are: Will Oberschlake, Tyler Shadrick and Wayne Vickers.
All voters in Districts One and Two will be able to vote in these races, regardless of political party affiliation. Those voters who are registered as either Republican or Democrat will also have the opportunity to vote in primary races for various state and federal offices.
Early voting for the August primary election will begin on Saturday, Aug. 8 and will continue through Saturday, Aug. 15. The hours for early voting are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sunday, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Voting on Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 18, will take place from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
