In light of the COVID-19 virus, the Peach State Summer Theatre (PSST) 2020 season at Valdosta State University (VSU) has been canceled. The season was to have begun on Friday, June 5, and continue through Sunday, July 19. The three shows making up the 2020 season were Rogers and Hammerstein's “Cinderella,” “The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On” and “The Music Man.”
“Please note that the safety and health of our students, faculty, staff and patrons is paramount at this time,” said A. Blake Pearce, Dean of VSU's College of the Arts, in a letter addressed to PSST patrons and supporters. “We appreciate all the gestures of support from our patrons.”
There are currently two options available to those who have already purchased tickets to any of the productions, or have tickets remaining as part of a sponsorship package. You may donate the membership (admissions) and receive a tax deduction for the full amount of the tickets; or you can request a refund for the tickets at face value.
For more information or to request a refund, please contact H. Duke Guthrie, Managing Director for PSST, at dguthrie@valdosta.edu, or you may call the VSU Theatre and Dance office at (229) 333-5307.
PSST plans to return during the summer of 2021 with a full season of shows.
