One lone sheriff, out of Bristol County, Mass., has the media in an uproar. The sheriff, Thomas Hodgson, had set himself the task of working with other sheriffs across the country to act on issues of public safety, such as including stopping illegal immigration. He thought lobbying to increase border security was a public safety issue.
