A two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 90 sent one to the hospital with injuries on Tuesday, July 7 at 2:34 p.m. According to the Madison Police Department report, Yvonne Chaney Platt, 68, of Madison was stopped at the driveway of O’Neal’s Country Buffet. Platt stated that a vehicle was attempting to turn into the driveway so she decided to pull out onto Hwy. 90 and travel west. She pulled out into the road and into the path of Brandon Malcom Leming, 25 of Newberry, Fl., who was traveling west on Hwy. 90. Platt stated that she never saw Leming approaching. Leming’s 2004 Ford Taurus struck Platt’s 2009 Ford SUV in the driver side fender and front door area. Platt stated she was in no pain and refused medical treatment. Leming was transported to Madison County Memorial Hospital for non-fatal injuries.
