Mary Peterson, 84, was born on July 9, 1940. She resided in Sunset, SC, and went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024. Mary was born in rural Greenville, Fla. Her parents were Lee and Mary Carroll, of Greenville. She later married John Peterson. Her love for God and her family was the center of her life. She also had a love for and traveled around singing at different churches. Her gift was serving others and caring for her family. All who knew her considered her to be their second mother. She was a New Life Christian Church member in Madison, Fla. She was predeceased by her husband, John Thomas Peterson, of 62 years; her parents, Lee and Mary Carroll; sisters: Eunice Blanton, Ruby English, Inez Cason and Bonnie Vick; and brother, Franklin Carroll.
She is survived by her brother, Johnny Carroll, of Greenville, Fla.; sister, Frances Thigpen, of Greenville, Fla.; her children: Angie Springer (Tom deceased), of Sunset, S.C., John and Connie Peterson, of Madison, Fla., Harold and Tina Peterson, of Orlando, Fla. and Chris and Jerri Peterson, of Greenville, Fla. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
