On Friday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., North Florida College (NFC) hosted a community health event on the Madison courthouse lawn. The event featured several educational resources and opportunities for awareness on an abundance of topics. The subjects included breast cancer awareness, coronavirus education, summer safety, contraceptive and safe sex education, the importance of sleep, safety education when administering medications to children, hypertension awareness and hydration education. Businesses and organizations providing valuable information included Tobacco Free Florida, Suwannee Valley Humane Society, Revival Wellness, Ealm Therapy, Immortal Nutrition and Massage, Madison Chronic Disease Program, Simply Healthcare Plans, Regent Medical and Aesthetic Services, Disc Village Recovery and Treatment Center, the Mental Health Crisis Team, the Tallahassee Homeless Shelter, Healthy Start, Refuge Health and North Florida College Allied Health Nursing Cohorts.
