North Florida College (NFC) District Board of Trustees unanimously approved Ricky Lyons of Lafayette County as chair and William "Billy" Washington of Madison as vice-chair of the board.
Lyons was first appointed to the board in July 2009 and elected vice-chair in August 2011. This past year marked his ninth year of continuous service as the NFC District Board of Trustees Vice-Chair and his 11th year on the board overall.
Washington was first appointed to the board in July 2013 and has served continuously on the board since that time. Washington is an NFC alumnus and the current Madison County Clerk of Court. The board is composed of nine members appointed by the Governor to establish the policies, in accordance with Florida Statutes and State Board of Education rules, by which the NFC mission is accomplished. These nine members represent the college's six county district.
Mike Williams of Madison, the past chair, continues to serve on the board representing Madison County and has a very impressive tenure as serving the most years as NFC Board Chair. Williams was first appointed to the NFC District Board of Trustees in 2008 and elected chair in August 2009. Serving in this leadership role continuously from 2009-2020, a total of 11 years, Williams holds the record for longest serving NFC District Board of Trustees Chair in the college's history.
