Madison County Tax Collector Robin Hart is pleased to announce that her office is receiving an upgraded system from the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DMV), as part of a statewide plan to streamline collection, increase modernization and provide better taxpayer services.
The system is going online on Thursday, Jan. 29. Consequently, Hart’s office will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28 and open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29. This will give the staff time to make sure everything is running smoothly before opening. “There may be some longer waits while we get accustomed to the new system,” said Hart. “Please be patient with us.”
The system will not only streamline services for customers, it will equip the staff to process tags, titles and driver’s licenses all on one screen. “We are hoping for a smooth and easy transition,” said Hart, who is also planning to provide CDL licensing in the fall.
