ICE is a commonly used acronym for the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. It was created in the wake of the 9/11 attacks and is a component of the Department of Homeland Security. About 20 thousand ICE agents are responsible for investigations and the removal of illegal aliens who have no legal right to be in our country. After the open-borders policy of the last administration, there are probably 20 million people in the country illegally who have circumvented the legal immigration and naturalization process.
So how do we remove these folks and send them back home where they came from? The so-called Big Beautiful Bill that President Trump signed into law last week calls for many border security enhancements, including hiring more ICE and CBP (Customs and Border Patrol) agents. This will take time to accomplish. The law also calls for finishing the border wall that began during the first Trump Administration, but what good is a wall if the next administration unlocks the gates?
