Thinking about the world situation today and our nation’s foreign policy, I cannot help but recognize the passing of Henry Kissinger. The man was a foreign policy genius for most of his lifetime, until the very end. He was a protégé of Nelson Rockefeller and served as national security advisor and secretary of state to Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Privately, for the last century, he continued to author best-sellers on the subject and advise future administrations. He understood the world as few others have.
We lost a lot with Dr. Kissinger, and Joe Biden never received the handoff. As Robert Gates (national security advisor and defense secretary for George W. Bush and Barack Obama) said in 2016, “Joe Biden has been wrong about every foreign policy matter for forty years.” So far, nothing has improved since Gates made that remark.
