The recent general election was a pretty resounding victory for Donald Trump and the Republicans. The Democrats are still trying to figure out what happened to be beaten so thoroughly. They might point to a poor candidate in Kamala Harris or the late pullout by the elderly president. Surely, not having a primary was a problem and many problems that worried voters were caused by the Biden-Harris Administration. On the whole, I think that too many of the Democrat positions on the things that mattered to the American people ā inflation, the economy and the border -- lacked common sense.
As close as the election was, two percent spoke more to all that Donald Trump had to overcome. He was soundly defeated four years earlier. The Democrats impeached him twice. He was investigated more than any previous president. He survived two assassination attempts. The media was solidly against him. In fact, ABC just paid him $16 million in a defamation case that involved false reporting. Both the DOJ and FBI had him on the radar, including raiding his home in Palm Beach.
