I don’t know if most of the world’s conflicts are over border disputes between two nations, but it seems that way. For example, I’m thinking back 87 years ago to this time in 1938. The world crisis centered on Central Europe and a dispute between Germany and Czechoslovakia over a region known as the Sudetenland. It was a disputed territory created just 20 years earlier following World War I. The people of the Sudetenland were ethnic Germans and spoke that language but were within the Czech borders. Hitler wanted the Sudetenland to be included in the Reich. He was belligerent about the matter.
