The war against the Islamic Republic of Iran is now in the second week. Allied airpower owns the skies over our enemy. To my knowledge, we have not lost a single jet with the exception of the friendly fire incident over Kuwait. We have achieved such air dominance that we no longer require stealth aircraft. So, non-stealthy heavy bombers, like B-1s and B-52s, can take their large bomb capacities over Iran without fear of being shot down. Essentially, the Iranians can no longer defend their airspace. They are prostrate.
This is both an air war and naval battle. The United States and Israel are in command of both air and seas, just as we were over the Normandy coast in the summer of 1944. The pace is frenetic. Israel’s Air Force is using performance enhancing drugs in order to maintain and fly three sorties daily, which under normal circumstances is exhausting. The air and ground crews are not sleeping. That can come later.
