We often speak of secure borders, like our southern border in the first five months of the Trump Administration, where illegal immigration has essentially stopped. Equally important is the airspace over our nation. Airspace is a border, too, and United States Northern Command is responsible for keeping our airspace protected from those who would intrude. We do this in coordination with Canada, too and have for many decades, protecting jointly the North American continent from foreign air penetration.
The airspace over Iran is no longer protected and Israeli Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft operate overhead with impunity. Iranian air defenses are essentially destroyed and the IAF roams freely, destroying military targets at will. That is a difficult situation for the Iranians. It has been like that for a year since the IAF first tore up the Iranian air defense system.
