As reported by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), on Monday, Sept. 20 at approximately 6:45 p.m., a 17-year-old female made vehicular impact with a tree, just east of Elizabeth Sims Loop, between Madison and Greenville. She was eastbound when she passed two vehicles. After returning to the eastbound lane, she went off the road for unknown reasons and slid down the embankment hitting a tree head on. The door had to be pried open in order to remove her from the vehicle. She was transported to Madison County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Upon investigation, it was learned she had been reported missing earlier that day from Santa Rosa County, Fla.
