Charred asphalt lays behind the old Madison County Memorial Hospital, but the remains of a burnt RV have since been moved after a Sunday, Feb. 23, fire.
Madison Fire Department's (MFD) Chief Bruce Jordan reports that crews responded to a fire at 3:07 a.m. at 309 NE Marion St., in downtown Madison. There, a 1993 Holiday Rambler was found to be on fire due to possible electric problems. The owner of the RV reported that the motor home had previous electrical problems.
The RV was determined to be a total loss. MFD cleared the scene just after 5 a.m.
